Alvin Word Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund

Alvin Word was a very educated man with many degrees, and he was a Registered Nurse. Most knew him for his Kingdom-mindedness and service to others. Always one to prefer giving a hand up rather than a hand out, Alvin Word, III was a true champion of the underdog, a long shot, and a righteous cause. He was very passionate about the nursing/healthcare field and wanted to help as many people as possible to achieve their goals of a healthcare degree. This scholarship was established by Alvin’s Rotary Club – Ocoee Regional Rotary and set up with this in mind, to help the “underdog” and to “honor” Alvin’s wishes.

If you would like to make a donation to the scholarship fund, simply mail a check to the Community Foundation, P.O. Box 4474, Cleveland, TN 37320, with Alvin Word Scholarship in the memo, or simply click “donate” below.
