The Community Foundation of Ocoee Region is a public, nonprofit, community foundation created by and for the people of Cleveland/Bradley County and the surrounding area. Many donors join together to make the region they love a better place, today and for future generations. A wide variety of assets can be accepted to serve almost any charitable purpose. The Foundation is a collection of individual charitable funds established by individuals, families, businesses, other nonprofits and foundations. With or without great wealth, our donors come from every corner of the community to achieve their charitable goals and impact a broad range of needs. Donors are able to maximize charitable gifts during their lifetime and provide perpetual gifts through endowments. The Foundation offers a variety of ways to make an impact in our community through charitable giving. Below are some of the many benefits to our donors:
Custom Strategy – You can rely on us to help you design a smart, strategic approach tailored to your goals, now or as part of your legacy.
Flexibility – Donors may create funds in any name they choose, for virtually and charitable purpose the choose whether local or national.
Simplicity – Funds can be established with one governing document that requires less than an hour to prepare. Charitable funds at the Community Foundation range in size from $5,000 to millions of dollars.
Tax Benefits – As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, the Community Foundation will maximize the donor’s tax benefits to the full extent allowed by law, thus saving on income and estate taxes, as well as reducing or eliminating capital gains taxes. We also have fewer Internal Revenue Service restrictions for gifts and grants than a private or family foundation.
Investment Growth – We are determined to protect and enhance your assets over the long term. Through smart investment, your fund often grows, tax-free, allowing you to do more for the cause you value.
Strategic Philanthropic Services – The Community foundation’s staff and board are knowledgeable about the non-profit community and issues of concern to donors.
Continuity – The Foundation was established in 2009 and will exist through future generations. The donor’s intent is our standard in every decision. We ensure our donors’ charitable priorities will always be honored, through changing time and circumstance.
Cost Effectiveness – The Community Foundations’ assets include multiple individual funds, keeping costs low for fund service and administration.
Recognition or Anonymity – Many donors use their family name, but some choose a fund name to protect their anonymity. We also offer you the ability to make an anonymous grant whenever you choose.
Legacy – With the Community Foundation, donors can build lasting testaments to their name or may choose to memorialize or honor loved ones and the causes they care about – from generation to generation.
