Disruptive Hope Adoption Fund
The Disruptive Hope Fund was established at the Community Foundation to help families who experience a “disrupted adoption,” meaning they matched with a mother to adopt her baby, but the adoption never came to fruition. These families have lost a significant portion of their adoption funds and must fundraise again to return to the process. The purpose of this fund is to bring “disruptive hope” to these families, providing them with the funds they need to continue their journey.
How does it work?
Additional donations of any size to this charitable fund are welcome and fully tax deductible. These donations will be invested to grow tax-free over time, providing assistance to more families. Anyone can contribute cash, stocks or other assets and receive a tax deduction and, in the case of appreciated assets, can also avoid capital gains taxes.
Adoption groups and agencies will alert the Community Foundation of disrupted match families with a financial need. Adoption funds will then be granted to these families through charitable nonprofit organizations. Stories from families who successfully match with the fund’s help will be used to drive awareness for the fund and additional donations.
